With a starring role in Seth MacFarlane’s raucous new comedy and a blossoming romance with Sean Penn, Charlize Theron is going all-in on everything.

The sun is dipping beneath the watery horizon, and Charlize Theron and I are sitting on the veranda at Pierre’s, a white-tablecloth joint filled with people wearing shorts.
